Warped Project Picture

I have been DJing for 17 years and producing electronic music for 10 years. During my time as a DJ I have held many residencies throughout the UK. After the millennium I began learning turntablist skills which in turn opened my eyes to the many different ways we are able to manipulate music live. In 1998 I started collecting production hardware, my first bit of kit was a Roland MC-505 Groovebox. After this I continued collecting equipment building a small home studio that used hardware synthesizers, grooveboxes, samplers, effects units and programs such as Cubase, Logic and now Ableton Live for sequencing.

My philosophy when mixing is to remain creative at all times and attempt to stamp my mark on everything I play... These DJ courses reflect this ensuring you are aware of your equipments capabilities and of the many different mixing tricks you can use to compete with any professional DJs. Remixing and music production is another way to isolate yourself from other DJs, by making your own unique remixes and new tracks you can add to the over all sound of your sets.

The DJ and music production courses on this site have been put together as an alternative to often very costly and time restricted college courses. These courses are usually held at music colleges and are often squeezed into tiny spaces of time. When learning new skills time can be the most precious resource, but with limitations on the time scale you have to learn these college courses can become inefficent. As an example I needed six months to develop my scratching skills and would have struggled if i had to go through all the techniques in just one weekend... College and staffing costs also ensure fees for courses can be expensive, in the UK they start from around £350 easily moving into thousands. Warped Project Logo

So here is my solution, introducing www.djtutorial.com a range of courses covering the same areas. Taught by a DJ and producer with the same skills and experience. However the courses here are downloadable and spread across, text, diagrams and video for you to learn in your own time. The courses here are available for less than 3% of the average fee cost to attend a music college. So try out the courses and let me know what you think, take your time to absorb information and practice.
